A New Year Means Changes - Big and Small

Well, strike up the Guy Lombardo band (yes, I guess I am that old) for a belated chorus of "Auld Lang Syne" -
Happy New Year to everyone from all of us here at August Briggs!
With the new year at least one of us here has undergone a major life change - Jesse, our owner Joe's nephew, is a new daddy! He and his girlfriend Leigh Anne had a baby boy on December 31 (just in time for that tax deduction!); his name is Alexander Pierce, and both he and mom are doing great - pictures coming soon!
No one else seems to have gone through anything nearly as major as this, so here we go plugging away into 2009 with our difficult economy. One of my major goals for this year is to make sure as many people as possible know how great our Cabernets are for their price - they are all sourced from prime mountain vineyards, with competitive wines (especially from here in Napa) often going for twice our price. If you're in the area, come on in and taste them on us, and I'm sure you'll agree.
One other goal for this year is to have as many people as possible discover August Briggs Winery - on one hand, we want to have as many people visit us as possible to experience our friendly, laid-back hospitality. At the opposite end of the scale I want to reach out beyond this blog in cyberspace, after a total of 101 blog posts here in 2008, to reach more people - I'll be starting with a new winery presence on Facebook, which I hope to have up within a week, so watch for that too.
